Some are saying this has been a bad week for the LibDems in Government.  How short memories can be. No, no, no!  Strike that.  The Labour Party, that doyen of all truth, has geared itself into a purely self-promoting, self-deluding and self-denying position to try to gain back some of its lost credibility.  And God alone knows that it so deserved to lose that credibility.

What liars they are!  How can they deny the state of the country back in April, the appalling level of trust in MPs (mainly their own), the increasing concern over their ability to lead the country into the future, and the FACT THAT THE PEOPLE TURNED THEM DOWN.

It is true that the electorate didn’t elect a LibDem government, nor a Conservative one (God be praised), but they certainly didn’t elect a Labour either.  And shame on those mealy-mouthed lying toads to deny ALL the problems they have left in their wake and, moreso, to deny that they were planning to approach the economic problems in EXACTLY the same way.  And having walked out of talks with the LibDems during the coalition discussions, they now have the temerity to call us turncoats.  What a shameful, cowardly bunch of drivelling fools.  At least their representatives at a local level have a much more pragmatic view on events.

So, to all those people who are now suggesting that manifesto promises are being broken, it must be siad time and time again that no party gained a majority, no specific manifesto was enough to satisfy a majority of the electors and, therefore, the only document that can be called to account is the coalition agreement.

And, yes, I will continue to campaign for free tuition fees, because that is my Party’s policy position, whereas it is not the coalition government’s position.  I will continue to oppose Minister Gove’s new schools and I will continue to work to see the end of Trident.  I see absolutely no difficulty in doing these things, while my parliamentary party colleagues take a more responsible line in respect of the country as a whole.

All this seems to be so bound up in the Alternative Vote referendum.  This is so vital and, thankfully, evidence on the ground appears to support this view.

Rant over!!
